5 Good Buyer Habits that Work

Homebuyers have gotten so savvy, so we thought we’d share 5 buyer habits that actually work to help you secure your home! Knowing these habits ahead of time will keep you and your agent more insync, as well as streamline the process.

5 Good Buyer Habits that work!

01. Ask your agent to check comps – Ask your agent check to make sure the list price of the home makes sense for the area. They will use things like the size of the home, age, finishes, and neighborhood to search for comparables and make sure the homes list price is where it should be.

02. Move quickly – Just because the market is changing so frequently, doesn’t mean it isn’t still competitive – it most certainly is! If you find a home that you think could be a contender, ask to see it asap! This will give you time to consider the home, talk to your lender, and put together an offer if necessary!

03. Be confident – Nail down the non-negotiables of a home and be ready to make a decision when it comes time to do so. Wavering back and forth on what you want/need can confuse your team and potentially cost you money!

Being able to see past the dated paint and fixtures can be a huge advantage.

04. Be open – Don’t shy away from a fixer-upper. Especially if the needed updates are inexpensive – like faucets, doorknobs, & paint. Usually the only thing about a home that can’t be changed is the location. Being able to see past the dated paint and fixtures can be a huge advantage.

05. Consider dropping contingencies- contingencies are what protect you (the buyer). Things like an appraisal, inspection, and financing are all common contingencies you can consider dropping to make your offer more attractive. Work with your realtor to determine what makes sense for your specific situation.
