Like the average person, you may not have $10-15k to do upgrades or paint, repairs, etc… Now what can you do? There are a number of ways to upgrade your home and still get the most bang for your work. Let’s look at 6 ways to list your home on a budget.

01. Painting – If you have a little time, you could do some of the painting inside yourself. Pick a neutral color to give your home a clean, polished look.

02. Pressure Wash – Instead of hiring someone to pressure wash outside, do this yourself. It saves money and the end result will speak for itself.

03. Rent a carpet cleaner – Again very inexpensive and gets rid of any pet odors and stains that might be there.

Small changes like the ones listed will dramatically increase your homes appeal!

04. Replace your cabinet hardware – a modern pop on your kitchen and bathroom cabinets will give them an updated look.

05. Switch out your switch plates – Replacing your switch plates and outlet covers is a quick, easy way to clean up the look of your home.

06. Declutter – the more decluttered and open the home looks, the easier it is for a buyer to imagine their things there.

So these are easy, but what if you have some issues that aren’t so easy? Like replacing carpet or exterior paint that needs to be done. Your agent in your listing can add in private remarks that you will give allowances for these types of work. Sometimes home buyers like this even better because they get to pick carpets, colors of paint etc…
